After that, it's fundamental to read all that there is to know about the world your character will be inserted into.
In order to do so, go to the Guide to Lore.
Lastly, please take a close look at all the mechanics that dictate our roleplay and its characters.
You can do this by checking out the Guide to Mechanics.
When you've done all of the above, you'll most likely be ready to start creating your character:
Create your Application Thread on the Character Creation Board.
To do so, follow the instructions on the Character Application Template Thread.
Once you're done, just copy the link of the thread and head over to the Grading Center.
To submit your application for review, use the General Submissions Thread.

While still not in huge numbers, Emes being able to work as Enforcers was an amazing thing. It was the dream of many and despite the way they were treated many of those Emes were very proud of what they were. Even when tasked with smaller and less exciting tasks and jobs. One such job was security over a University campus. It wasn't the most exciting work. It was easy to get antsy and there wasn't a whole lot going on besides enforcing minor rules and violations. Many of the people that made up the university were the scholarly types and didn't take to committing the kinds of crimes that needed a police presence. That was probably why Emes were stuck there in the first place. To not take the real action and work away from the hardworking normal Enforcers.
Of course, Kyla didn't mind at all. She was more than happy to do her duty with much gusto. She was the energetic type. And while she was stuck on this campus, at least she could have a little fun with her work. She was suited up and carrying her bow proudly, displaying it to any that asked. While many people didn't like or trust Emes, the curios attitudes of the scholars did have an interest in them. And Kyla was excited to demonstrate for them if need be. But most exciting of all was the fact that Kyla wasn't the only Emes here. While she had yet to meet the person, she heard there was another assigned to University security. So as Kyla patrolled, she made sure to try and keep an eye out for anyone that might be an Emes. It was always fun to meet another Emes and see what they could do.
That said, everything on the campus wasn't the best. In the shadows and out of sight an event was stirring. The sparks of a new problem for Vantalux were flickering and it was going to start here at this University. Outside of the cafeteria, hidden out of sight were two gentlemen. They were discussing their latest finds and theories on Emes and the Vel as a whole. And while they had not noticed just yet, the whiff of something burning lingered toward them. The source was unknown, but a fire had just started and soon it would cause a panic. Soon the first of many arsons were take place.

Gaius walked around the campus in an absent minded manner. If not for his uniform and weapons he could have perhaps been mistaken for a student at the university perhaps. Though his face did not outright show it, he was in a bit of a foul mood. Being an Enforcer wasn't his dream job to begin with, but being forced into a situation like this only made it worse. It was pretty obvious what this was. Being stationed at a university without a major event happening there, far away from the streets or any possible activity, it was all to clear to him. He wasn't sent here to do what an Enforcer was supposed to do, he was sent here to be out of the way. The matter of brazen disrespect was infuriating enough all on its own. He was a noble yet they felt they had the right to relegate him to a meaningless post? Beyond the matter of his pride being wounded however, there was an entirely separate and worse issue Gaius had content with. The practical consequences of this posting were that... he was simply bored. When out on patrol he could at least have his eyes open on the lookout for criminals or troublemakers to go after, or he could slip into a bar for a moment or two. Here at the university though? There was nothing to do and no-one to pick a fight with. He doubted any of the scrawny students had it in them to actually provoke him, and even if they did he didn't expect any of them to put up much of a fight.
"Being an Enforcer sucks..." Gaius whispered to himself with a heavy sigh. Though he usually tried to see the positives in his career choice, he never felt fully comfortable in his role. It was a fact Gaius practically had on display. Though he wore the Enforcer uniform as one should, it was heavily embellished with his own armor and sash being worn on top of it. The only saving grace he could think of right now was the fact that he was not alone there. Indeed, the higherups decided that the campus needed no less than two Enforcers to keep the students at bay. Gaius wasn't necessarily yearning for teamwork, but having a conversational partner and someone who potentially shared his annoyance was more than a welcome addition to his current predicament. Who knows, maybe they could even do a little sparring out in the courtyard, put on a show for the students. Gaius's gut told me most of them had never seen a real fight before. Little did he know, they'd not get an opportunity for any of that.
Gaius approached his follow Enforcer without recognizing or taking note of her. Hopefully his almost two meter tall stature and armor would be enough for a give-away for his female colleague to recognize him at least.
